Basic obedience is important to have a well-mannered, friendly and sociable dog who will love going for a walk, greet other dogs and people in a friendly manner, and go to the dog park where they can run and play. Dogs that are not socialized as a puppy (known as the critical socialization period – first 12 weeks of life) are at high risk of developing fear and anxiety which can lead to aggressive behaviors towards other people and dogs in their environment.
It takes time and commitment to train your dog. Dogs learn best by watching your body language. He/she will learn to focus on your hand signals rather than your voice. Instead of repeating your commands over and over, they will learn to focus on you and learn what is expected and then respond to your verbal commands – sit, down, leave it, etc. At WATCH THE TAIL DOG TRAINING, we have a variety of tasks to enable your dog to learn and enforce their willingness to obey. We provide homework with step-by-step instructions and offer individual and package programs.
Find what motivates your dog and learn how to substitute food reinforcements and treats with activities he LOVES like playing ball or going for a walk! With our home exercise programs, you will have a happy dog too!
Nothing is more important to us than helping you establish a happy, rewarding and obedient relationship with your dog.
We want both of you to be happy and will show you both how to achieve that.
And just like going to school... there will be homework! Practicing what we teach you will develop a stronger relationship with your dog and make both of you happier!
This husband-and-wife team will train your dog in a fun and exciting way using positive reinforcement in a rewards-based training program that motivates your dog to make positive associations and learn about the consequences of their behavior. At WATCH THE TAIL DOG TRAINING, we help solve your dog’s behavior problems by retraining your dog to calm their aggressive tendencies and change their emotions with positive reinforcement. We do not believe in using prong collars or choke chains which may be harmful to your dog and instead offer other equipment that is more compatible with a happy socialized pet!

We chose the name WATCH THE TAIL because WATCH is one of the most important commands we teach. Your dog will be trained to WATCH and be able to focus and look at you. It’s a key skill for the dog to pay attention especially when distracted when out for a walk. THE TAIL represents the dog’s body language. It’s essential for you to understand your dog’s communication. Their body language can tell you about their emotional state if they are happy or sad. Your dog may have soft eyes, an open mouth and relaxed ears. He may have his ears up and alert and the tail straight up or between his legs. We picked THE TAIL as one part to identify if he is happy with a wagging tail or fearful with the tail down. So, contact WATCH THE TAIL DOG TRAINING today and discover how our comprehensive training program can help provide you with the happy dog you always wanted!
